There’s no doubt about it, the south west is the best part off the UK. We may be biased since we are based here but counties in the area are consistently voted near the top of polls for residents with the highest quality of life. That’s no surprise at all when you consider the many virtues that the south coast has going for it and when it comes to your wedding, we know that you want the best. So why get married in Devon, Cornwall or Dorset? Read on for some fab reasons!
The Countryside and Coastline
There is nothing quite like countryside air and when you’re in the south west, you are truly able to appreciate it. If you’re looking for a gorgeous setting for your wedding photos then look no further because the fabled coastline of the UK is as its best from Cornwall right through to Dorset. Both the Jurassic Coast from East Devon to Dorset and the Cornwall and West Devon Mining Landscape are renowned as UNESCO World Heritage Sites so there really is no better place to exchange vows and celebrate your special occasion. Incidentally, Tintagel in Cornwall is the chosen photo for this blog!
The Wedding Venues
Oh goodness, yes! It’s not just the Devon countryside that will wow you but the multitude of possible wedding venues available to anybody looking to get married in the south west. From vineyards to country estates, a Great Barn through to properties under the stewardship of the National Trust and English Heritage, there really is a wealth of options to suit you and your partner on your big day. No matter what your taste, there is sure to be one venue that will catch you eye and have you desperate to walk down the aisle as soon as possible…and we can’t blame you for that!

No good wedding is complete without a fabulous wedding breakfast and to this end, Devon, Cornwall and Dorset really shine. Whether you are looking for an amazing cheese board or succulent meats, there are some superb caterers and farms in the south west that produce food beyond your wildest dreams. When it comes to the drinks, the aforementioned vineyards can supply some impressive wines whilst Cornish ales and Devon and Dorset ciders are enjoyed throughout the UK. There really is no excuse to look elsewhere.
