Wedding Suppliers We Recommend
01 November 2017
Recently we have attended a number of wonderful wedding fairs in Wespoint, Exeter Castle and St Mellion International Resort. It goes without saying that we met many wonderful couples as well as various family members of the brides and grooms to be, but in this blog we want to show our appreciation to many of the other top wedding suppliers in Devon, Cornwall and the south west whom we have met at the recent fairs. Without further ado, here are just a few that we have enjoyed meeting and highly recommend with more to feature next week...
Featured in the Sunday Times’ Ultimate 100 British Hotels and featuring a restaurant that has been awarded a Top 20 in the best seafood restaurants in the UK, this is a superb location in which to get married. With gorgeous views and sublime wedding spaces, we think that the Salcombe Harbour Hotel looks absolutely wonderful.
We are assuming that you have heard of the Eden Project, one of the few millennium venues to have survived in its original incarnation into 2017. With three huge biodomes featuring all manner of wildlife from around the globe, we think it’s an eclectic choice for the couple who love the great outdoors!
We loved meeting the team behind the Hotel Alexandra because not only were they lovely but – full disclosure – I actually used to visit the hotel’s restaurant on days out with my grandparents. It’s a sumptuous location for a hotel and is a true gem in Lyme Regis with beautiful gardens for all your guests to enjoy.
A grade II-listed building set in the outskirts of Brixham in Devon, Lupton House is a premier wedding venue which provides a unique and exclusive location for all your needs. With a grand piano, flowing fountains and more, there’s a whole lot for prospective couples to look forward to on their wedding day.
Fancy bringing the joys of authentic Brazilian cuisine to your wedding in the south west? Who wouldn’t? The team from BBQ Brazil can offer just that, with a gorgeous lineup of options including Malagueta chicken, espetinho or a full Rodizio BBQ. We loved the team at Westpoint and would urge you to give their food a taste.
Although wedding cakes made from cheese are all the rage these days, we still have a fondness for the humble wedding cake and nobody impresses us more than Perfect Bakes, whose creations really are absolutely perfect. Explore their website and see if anything takes your fancy… The tasters on offer at a recent wedding fair were divine!
A cave unlike any other – hence being spelled with a ‘k’ – the wedding space is set within 60 acres of beautiful private grounds in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, with ocean views to die for. Ocean Kave is available all year round, but we think it looks best in the spring with a vast array of wild flowers to admire on the day.
Escape to the coast with Sandy Cove, a spectacular venue set in Combe Martin Bay, near Ilfracombe in Devon. Featuring breathtaking views and an exceptional restaurant, we think friends and family will be stunned if you choose this hotel… Why not make it a weekend trip and book a few rooms as well?
If you seek out the photos on the Carbis Bay Hotel website, you would be forgiven for thinking that you’re looking at a venue in the Caribbean rather than St Ives, Cornwall. Winner of a multitude of awards, this really is an exceptional choice for your wedding and one that will look stunning as the backdrop to your wedding photographs in years to come. In fact our photo of the top of the page was taken from a wedding at Carbis Bay!
That's all for this week but stay tunes for more wedding supplier and venue recommendations next week.
