A Pride Wedding

In honour of the amazing pride month that just passed, we thought we’d help you with planning the decorations for your pride wedding.

Rainbows obviously are a big part of pride but there are many more ways to incorporate them besides the typical rainbow wedding cakes or flags!

Pride for the guests

Even though your guests might not be a part of the LGBTQ+ community they are going want to show their acceptance and love for you and your partner so giving them something to express that will be really great. Temporary tattoos are a nice way for the guests to show their support. You could also hand out rainbow suspenders, blankets and ties at the beginning of the day.

Rainbow Clothing

If you want to be more eye-catching and present the rainbow more prominently you can incorporate the colours of the rainbow or literal rainbows into the outfits of you and your guests.  One way of doing that would be dressing the bridesmaids or groomsmen in the colours of the rainbow. They could also wear neutral colours and one rainbow item.

Table Decorations

It’s also really nice to have rainbow table decorations; they can really change the vibe of the wedding during the wedding breakfast. If the decorations in the venue are full of rainbows, the guests can dress more neutral and it will still look very beautiful and colourful. You can sprinkle rainbow coloured glitter and confetti everywhere, put colourful flowers on the tables and even have rainbow table cloths to accentuate your LGBTQ+ wedding.

Hair and Makeup

If you want to be more subtle and not put big rainbow coloured items everywhere, I recommend including rainbows in your Make-Up, hair or on your nails. This way you will still have the rainbow with you but it won’t be as visible as when you’re wearing rainbow coloured clothes. You can also take your bridesmaids or groomsmen or other guts to get rainbow nails or makeup together.

Throw The Colours

If you want to make everything colourful and have fun doing it you could also tell your guests to wear white clothes. After the ceremony, you could hand out bags with colour powder and then everyone could throw the colours at each other as they do it at the Holi festival. All the guests would have a lot of fun and everything would look way more colourful afterward.

Goodie Bags

At the end of the wedding, you could give out little bags that are filled with rainbow things like keychains, candy, balloons or pins. This way everyone will remember the amazing LGBTQ+ wedding they just attended.
